Louis Berger Services is currently looking for a full time Flight Operations Coordinator to support our LOGCAP V operation at the US Army Udairi Airfield (UAAF) in Kuwait.  The Flight Operations Coordinator performs operational and administrative duties as designated by the flight operations supervisor to facilitate an efficient and safe flow of both air and ground maneuvers on their assigned shift.


Although specific duties vary by assignment or contract typical duties include:

  • Serving as the shift lead oversees the monitoring and inspecting on a continuing basis the operational condition of runways, taxiways, navigational and meteorological aids
  • Coordinates with the Operations and Maintenance Manager to ensure all facilities of the airfield remain in operational conditions
  • Directs the mission support for operational requirements
  • Determines operational restrictions or hazards to flight and communication facility status and advises the Airfield Manager daily
  • Responsible for daily airfield inspections for flight safety hazards including violations of airfield clearing criteria and hazards to arriving, departing, and parked aircraft
  • If applicable ensures implementation of Bird, Aircraft strike hazard (BASH) Weather, environmental, noise complaints, and refers requests and complaints to the appropriate authority Coordinates and maintains liaison with military, federal, international, and local agencies concerning flight planning, training route utilization, flight movement messages, search/ rescue operations, and base contingency/operational plans
  • Advises military/civilian agencies on closure of runways, taxiways, or aircraft parking aprons/spots, airfield repairs/construction, and availability of airfield lighting/navigational aid systems
  • Coordinates during emergency situations on the airfield; inspects the airfield to ensure adherence to airfield standards to assess damage to airfield property, and necessary actions to repair and reopen airfield facilities
  • Coordinates/monitors aircraft, personnel, vehicle and equipment ground movements
  • Coordinates with base agencies to ensure proper support to all base, transient VIP aircraft, passengers and crews.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the flight operations supervisor or airfield manager


  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in airfield operations or similar field
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Advance knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, instructions, and directives pertaining to airfield planning and design criteria, aircraft operations, and airfield management
  • Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
  • Skill in identifying, analyzing, and translating complex information, making appropriate judgments, and evaluating options concerning airfield operations and maintenance
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must speak and understand English in order to coordinate movement on the ramps via two-way radios
  • Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity and with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
  • Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer at least three (3) years as an airfield operations specialist
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
