Louis Berger Services is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill an Aircraft Servicer position at the Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA.
Applicant must operate hydrant servicing equipment, hydrant servicing vehicles and/or pantographs to deliver Jet-A to aircraft and ground units. Loads vehicle with fuel from ready bulk storage, delivers Jet-A to flight line, and refuels aircraft observing all safety protocols.
Operates a fuel truck for delivery of Jet-A fuel, loads vehicle with fuel from ready bulk storage, delivers Jet-A to flight line and refuels aircraft observing all safety protocols.
Operates hydrant servicing equipment/pantographs to deliver Jet-A to aircraft. Receives and records requests for fuel from airfield operations.
Performs and documents operator maintenance and inspection of all equipment.
Performs measurements and tests amounts of fuel in storage tanks, and regulates flow of petroleum products into pipelines at the POL Island, and following prescribed standards.
Completes Jet-A product quality control and ensure quality received documentation accuracy during tanker offload operations.
Gauges quantity of fuel in storage tanks before and after delivery, using calibrated steel tap and conversion table.
Obtains temperature readings with a thermometer from each storage tank.
Turns bleeder valves, or lowers sample container into tank to obtain samples.
Inspects all fueling systems for leaks major defects in valves, lines and connections.
Reports all defective problems, discrepancies and errors to Fuels Supervisor.
Performs corrosion control for all refueling equipment and transfer pipeline.
Inspects all fueling systems for leaks major defects in valves, line and connections.
Ensure vegetation is controlled on the POL Island and along the transfer pipeline.
Removes rust and foreign substances, and applies corrosion resistance material to all vehicles for the preparation to paint.
Performs touch up painting to prevent new corrosion.
Performs other related duties that reach beyond this position description.
Driver’s License requirement:; Valid Class A Commercial Driver License, Tank Truck, Tractor Trailer with Hazardous Material endorsement
Ability to perform all tasks assigned to the Fuels Section
Operates, maintains and inspects fuel systems and mobile equipment
Ability to perform accounting and Quality Assurance duties
Ability to work in all weather conditions, tolerance to heat
High School graduate or GED Equivalent
Ability to understand and communicate with a culturally diverse workforce
Ability to pass a background check
Ability to obtain a medical clearance before hire
Have attended Fuels Accounting School
Have attended Fuel Petroleum Logistics Manager’s Course
Have attended Fuels Manager Defense, Terminal Manager/Responsible Officer training
Associates of Arts Degree in a fuels or chemical related field is preferred
Have attended any DOD Fuels Quality Control School; will consider a civilian approved fuels laboratory school
Extensive knowledge of Liquid Fuels Maintenance
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Outlook
