    Louis Berger, a WSP company, has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Safety Specialist to join its Federal Program and Construction Services team in the Northern Virginia area. The Environmental Safety Specialist will function in a key role serving as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting Government facilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

     

    • Draft policy statements, standard operating procedures, fact sheets, newsletter articles and other communications regarding current and future environmental regulations affecting the Government
    • Develop and/or review applicable environmental compliance and management plans
    • Review National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation and provide Facilities' project managers advice on NEPA applicability
    • Provide technical environmental regulatory assistance and guidance to facilitate environmental compliance with local, state and federal regulations
    • Conduct environmental compliance inspections/audits/evaluations as directed by the Government to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and Presidential Executive Orders
    • Update and monitor environmental regulatory permits held by the Government
    • Develop and conduct environmental compliance training for Government employees and contractors

    Responsibilities

    Qualifications:

     

    • Five (5) years of related experience
    • Nationally recognized environmental credential desired (Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Professional Engineer (PE), etc.)
    • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in science or engineering
    • TS/SCI w Full Scope Poly
