    Civil Site Designer IV – Civil Engineering Practice

    Great opportunity for a full-time, senior-level Civil Site Designer to join Louis Berger, US in our Pompano Beach, FL. Office and become an integral member of our dynamic Civil Engineering Practice team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a great work ethic.

     

     

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities would include managing site civil, buildings & facilities, and water resource engineering tasks/projects, providing day-to-day resourcing and mentoring to mid-level and junior-level staff (reporting to others), and leading business development initiatives.  Anticipated technical responsibilities include directing/executing/reviewing engineering analyses associated with site civil design, including hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, grading, cut/fill analyses, design of water, sewer and drainage systems, preparing permit documents, preparing engineering design plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and conducting construction oversight. Strong communication skills is critical, as this position will require writing technical documents and proposals, and presenting in front of clients. The applicant must be capable in the application of design engineering principles and practices, and independently making decisions on significant engineering methods. This position is expected to be full-time, 40 hours/week, and will require occasional overtime to meet project deliverables.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • This is a senior-level position requiring 15 to 20 years of related experience.
    • Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
    • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited University is required.
    • Professional Engineer License required.
    • Demonstrated experience in project management.
    • Client portfolio.
    • Strong work ethic.
    • Candidate should have sound knowledge of hydrologic concepts detailed in NRCS TR-55, TR-20. The candidate should be familiar with performing surface water hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using software like HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS; and using Hydraflow Hydrographs and Storm Sewers stormwater management and conveyance system design.
    • Prior experience developing bid packages, including plans, construction cost estimates, and technical specifications for government and private industry clients.
    • Experience with water and sewer design and associated software design packages.
    • Word and Excel proficient.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
