Project Manager

Louis Berger is currently looking to expand its Civil/Highway Engineering group within the Transportation Division Nationwide, and is seeking a Senior Civil/Highway Engineer to join the Global Headquarters office location in Morristown, NJ.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and leading the design of highway design projects. Responsibilities will include acting as the main point of contact with clientele, overseeing junior-level engineers, designers and CADD staff in the preparation of calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and public presentations. The Senior Civil/Highway Engineer will have the opportunity to support both local and national key projects, will work collaboratively with other engineers on projects with the State DOTs, regional and local agencies and will take on the following responsibilities:

• Lead civil/highway, drainage/stormwater, utility and traffic engineering designs of transportation networks and systems infrastructure.
• Manage client relations and communications.
• Apply civil engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various project phases involving transportation engineering works including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction and operation.
• Obtain project data and information concerning transportation engineering works and requirements including drawings, specifications, project cost information, etc.
• Oversee and assist in the preparation of reports documenting all findings, conclusions and recommendations resulting from the analysis.
• Perform all other duties that may be requested by the Transportation Engineering Department manager.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 10 to 20 years of industry experience.
• New Jersey Professional Engineer License.
• Experience with developing designs for DOT or linear development projects.
• Experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD CAD.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, team work, and communication skills, both written and verbal (English).
• Live within commuting distance to Morristown, New Jersey office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree.
• Microsoft Scheduler or Primavera experience.
• Experience with other regional, county, and municipal agencies.
