Senior Structural/Bridge Engineer

Louis Berger is currently looking to expand its Structural/Bridge Engineering group within its Miami, FL office, and is seeking an experienced Senior Structural/Bridge Engineer to lead engineering efforts for the region.

The Senior Structural/Bridge Engineer will have the opportunity to support both local and national key projects, will work collaboratively with other engineers on projects with the State DOTs, regional and local agencies and will take on the following responsibilities:

• Performing bridge analysis and design computations
• Performing bridge inspections, writing bridge condition reports and preparing bridge load rating computations
• Developing and innovating non-standard structure details for unique and complex structures including highway and railroad bridges
• Preparing contract bid documents including final plans, specifications and cost estimates for structural projects
• Visiting project sites to perform bridge inspections, verify existing conditions during design, and provide construction support engineering
• Coordinating with other disciplines within the transportation department including but not limited to survey, roadway, drainage and planning

The successful candidate will have the following:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, preferably MS
• 10-15 years of experience in structural engineering
• Professional Engineer License
• Experience in development of construction plans, cost estimates, bid documents, design calculations, and quantity takeoffs for transportation projects
• Experience working with the FDOT required, District 6 strongly preferred
• Experience or willing to participate in geotechnical design, bridge and facilities inspections, bridge ratings and construction inspections.
• Proficient in MicroStation and general design/analysis software
• Good communication skills and ability to work as a team member
