  • Overview


    The Duty Officer will be responsible for Air Terminal Ground Handling Operations and ensuring all work centers are accomplishing mission related tasks in a safe and timely manner as directed by management, regulations, policies, Instructions and the Performance Work Statement.


    Observe and direct flight line activities through continuous radio and vehicle access
    Research mishaps and aircraft delays
    Resolve issues with outside agencies/customers
    Monitor status of Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
    Redirect manning from one work center to another to avoid mission saturation
    Visit each work center during the shift
    Attend ATOC brief with all section supervisors, main driver, and Air Freight representative at the beginning of shift.
    Monitor personnel workforce strength on shift
    Monitor status of Intransient Visibility (ITV) Systems (i.e. GATES)
    Monitor facility status as it impacts mission accomplishment
    Monitor aircraft arrival and departure times to ensure required ground services are available to meet required schedule of events
    Perform Quality Control functions and report observations to Safety Manager
    Routinely monitor aircraft loading procedures and brief team leads of any safety concerns
    Routinely monitor aircraft locating procedures and brief management and LBAS safety office of any safety or procedural concerns


    Must have prior experience in Air Terminal Ground Handling Services

    Fluent English reading and writing skills to be able to read and understand AMCI guidance for day to day work requirements.
    Must have computer skills to be able to operate and understand the web based Global Air Transportation Execution System (GATES) and/or any replacement government system. Generally requires at least a high school education and technical training in a computer system
    Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Written Inquiry (NACI) and/or have a Secret clearance on file.
    Must maintain a valid United States driver’s license or commercial driver’s license (as applicable)
    Must be able to drive a forklift, pickup trucks, semi-tractor trailers and a 25 K loader (as required)
    Can pass random/or accident investigation drug and alcohol testing
    Extended periods of standing, walking, pushing and lifting may be required
